  • How do I turn keystroke recording ON & OFF (and why is that important)?

If you are recording keystrokes on a PC, and you want to type in a password, credit card number or other personal information, you should turn off keystroke recording.  We do not want your personal information stored in our database of keystroke recording, and the best way to ensure the security of your personal information is to never record keystrokes when you are typing in personal information.

To turn OFF keystroke recording, hold down the CONTROL (CTRL) and ALT keys at the same time, and press the 2 key.  McGruff SafeGuard monitoring software will display a window that says Turned Off.

To turn ON keystroke recording, hold down the CONTROL (CTRL) and ALT keys at the same time, and press the 1 key.  McGruff SafeGuard monitoring software will display a window that says Turned On.

To see if keystroke recording is ON or OFF, hold down the CONTROL (CTRL) and ALT keys at the same time, and press the 3 key.  McGruff SafeGuard monitoring software will display a window that says On or Off.
