• Are there any issues with McAfee tools?

McAfee  may identify the components in McGruff SafeGuard monitoring software as suspicious or unknown. 

If you are asked to Grant Access or Trust Program, always pick: TRUST THIS PROGRAM or GRANT ACCESS:

1. Start McAfee:

Ciick on Advanced Menu, then click Internet & Network:

Click Configure and on the right panel under Internet & Network Configuration, click the Advanced button:

Select Program Permission.  You want to grant Full Access to the McGruff SafeGuard programs as shown in the following two screens:

• McAfee Personal Firewall Plus

Instructions are similar to above, but the screen is slightly different.  Here's an example where the McGruff SafeGuard modules were INCORRECTLY SET AS BLOCKED.  They need to be changed to ALLOW FULL ACCESS.

 

They found that they could NOT configure McAfee on their own PC; it could only be configured from the "master" PC at the office.  In this case, McAfee did not allow McGruff SafeGuard monitoring software to operate properly.

Some customers have reported a problem when using a McAfee firewall on an "work" PC (taken home from the office).
