  • How do I set up ZoneAlarm to work with McGruff SafeGuard?

    ZoneAlarm may pop up one or more of the following windows.  In all cases, click REMEMBER THIS SETTING or APPLY THIS SETTING TO ALL SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOR EXHIBITED BY THIS APPLICATION and ALLOW.

  • ZoneAlarm settings are not letting me use the McGruff SafeGuard website.

    You need to allow cookies for the websites used by McGruff SafeGuard.  Open up ZoneAlarm Configuration, select Privacy, and either disable cookie control, or specify that the McGruff SafeGuard websites are allowed to maintain cookies:

 

  • My PC is running slowly; "services" is taking up lots of CPU time

We've seen ZoneAlarm not always pop-up all ALLOW/BLOCK windows for some of the background programs.  If you have trouble with ZoneAlarm, open the ZoneAlarm control panel, and select Program Control.  You will see window similar to:

 

Scroll down to the programs that start with:

as seen above, and enable Access Trusted & Internet, and Server Trusted & Internet, as seen below.  To do this, right click on the question mark symbol for each of the related programs, and select ALLOW.  The right click menu will normally show ALLOW & BLOCK if you click directly on the question mark.  If you right click elsewhere, you might see a different menu; you must right click directly on the question mark.
