• How do I run the McGruff SafeGuard Self-Diagnostics?

Login to the McGruff SafeGuard website, and then click GET HELP on the left side of the page, then click:

Diagnosing problems on the PC where McGruff SafeGuard monitoring software is installed

• The McGruff SafeGuard website said its been many hours since my child's PC contacted the McGruff SafeGuard website

Either McGruff SafeGuard has been uninstalled, disabled or your anti-spyware/anti-virus software is blocking McGruff SafeGuard from operating properly.  The easiest solution is to download & install the latest version of McGruff SafeGuard on your child's PC.

Click the button next to My McGruff SafeGuard isn't working.  

If any Internet activity has recorded but not stored at the McGruff SafeGuard website, you can click on the bubble icon next to Show Messages or the earth icon next to Show Website visits.

McGruff SafeGuard will perform a series of tests.  Here are the common results:

McGruff SafeGuard engine is not running.	There was a problem with your installation.  Try installing McGruff SafeGuard again.  If you still have problems, please contact Support
McGruff SafeGuard Engine did not detect any web visits yet.	Everything on McGruff SafeGuard is working normally, but you didn't visit any website.  If you did visit a website since McGruff SafeGuard has been running on your PC, please contact Support.
McGruff SafeGuard Engine detected web visits, but didn't detect any chat or instant message activity.	Verify that McGruff SafeGuard monitors the chat system you want to monitor.  To get a list of chat systems that work with McGruff SafeGuard, sign in to the McGruff SafeGuard website with your username and password, click GET HELP, then click Which chat, email, ... are monitored by McGruff SafeGuard.
McGruff SafeGuard Engine captured 3 messages today McGruff SafeGuard waiting to upload 3 messages Oldest message to upload is: 10:02:00 You may have to wait up to 10 minutes to view the messages at the McGruff SafeGuard website.	Everything on McGruff SafeGuard is working normally, and McGruff SafeGuard is waiting to transmit the messages to the McGruff SafeGuard website so you can see them If the oldest message is more than 10 minutes old, then there may be a problem communicating with the McGruff SafeGuard website. If no messages appear within 10 minutes, see Solving Firewall Problems.
McGruff SafeGuard Engine captured 3 messages today Last message uploaded at 10:02:00 You may have to wait up to 4 more minutes to view the messages at the McGruff SafeGuard website.	Everything on McGruff SafeGuard is working normally, and McGruff SafeGuard has sent some of your messages to the McGruff SafeGuard website, and is processing those messages. If the messages don't appear within a few minutes, please contact Support.
