You can set the McGruff SafeGuard browser to use the default categories for CHILD or TEEN, and you can customize to allow individual categories to be blocked or allowed. You can also set specific websites to be blocked or allowed. |

| Abortion and pregnancy | Sites that talk about: pregnancy, abortion,pregnancy termination |
| Ads | Sites that serve ads, or are an ads agency. |
| Adult | Sites that contain adult content, either graphically or in text. |
| Adult dating | Sites that deal with adult dating (contains sexual content). |
| Alcohol | Sites that deal with Alcohol. |
| Astrology | Sites that deal with Astrology and various cold reading methods. |
| Blogs or Forums | Sites that are forums and/or blogs, if the content of the site is not safe, it will be in another category. |
| Books or comics | Sites that are about books or comics. |
| Business | Sites belonging to a business that doesn't fall under any of the other categories. |
| CDN | CDN Sites, they serve content of others. |
| Chats | Sites that has online chats, or have chat applications. |
| Classifieds | Classifieds sites, second hand sales/services. |
| Clothing | Sites that are about clothing. |
| Cooking | Sites that are about cooking, food, and restaurants. |
| Dating | Sites that are about dating. |
| Drugs | Sites that are about drugs. |
| Education | Sites that belong to: schools, kinder gardens, colleges and universities, or offer online education. |
| Empty | While scanning the site it didn't return any result, which means site can't be verified. |
| Entertainment | Sites about: Celebrity, gossip, movie reviews, art, does not contain downloadable media. |
| Error | While scanning the site there was an error, which means site can't be verified. |
